Planning is one of the biggest challenges for architects working in Northern Ireland, and one of the most problematic aspects of the planning process is transport. A revised 'Manual for Streets' is set to be published early in 2022 and the Department for Infrastructure has indicated that it will be adopted in Northern Ireland. Karen McShane discusses how this compares to the current guidance in operation in Northern Ireland and what changes might be in store.
