What is RE-CUGI Project?
Reducing Emissions through Compact Urban Growth in Ireland (RE‑CUGI) is a two-year collaborative project (2023–2025) led by IGBC and UCD, funded by SEAI. Its aim is to quantify the carbon impact of dwellings, infrastructure, and neighborhood layouts to promote compact, low-carbon urban growth.
Purpose
As Ireland accelerates climate action, compact and low-carbon urban growth is becoming a cornerstone of planning policy. This Lunch & Learn- RE- CUGI will explore how professionals in planning, development, engineering, and architecture can assess the sustainability of development sites and design for low emissions and liveability.
