Come join us this Saturday 4th October for a two hour workshop with collage artist Sorcha O'Higgins at AAI @ The Bank at 130 Baggot Street Lower!

This engaging, creative activity is designed to challenge and inspire you. It's a chance to explore the medium of collage and experiment with an iterative process of playful arrangement. A few quick collage exercises will get us used to the materials - the feel of the paper, tearing and cutting it, selecting images and composing an artwork - before we embark on making a longer piece. No experience needed, and all materials will be provided.

Sorcha O'Higgins is a collage artist based in Westport, Co. Mayo. With a background in architecture and urban art, she works almost exclusively with existing analogue material to create both abstract and figurative work. She is drawn to bold colours, patterns and contrasting elements, which she then compositionally curates to construct playful, direct and sometimes brazen artworks. Her style ranges from geometric and architectural to fluid and harmonious. She has done bespoke commissions for hotels and theatre productions, as well as editorial work for magazines and newspapers, album artwork for musicians, brand identities, window displays and large-scale murals for retail and hospitality, as well as commercial prints and personal work.
