Project Description:
The project involves a collection of four buildings sited in the beautiful landscape next to the Abbeyleix Demesne just outside Abbeyleix town in Co. Laois. Ómós was started by chef Cúán Greene who invited us to design a new build restaurant and to renovate a ruined house and stable into a sixteen bedroom guesthouse. The ethos of the architecture parallels that of the restaurant and guesthouse - to create a unique place that is deeply rooted in its surroundings, one that looks forward and backwards in equal measure and values natural materials and craft.
