The IAF offers a unique guided walking tour on the past and present of Temple Bar, led by Michael McDermott, as part of the Bealtaine Festival — Ireland’s national celebration of the arts and creativity as we age, presented by Age and Opportunity.

Accessibility:
This tour will feature a wireless audio system, allowing you to hear the guide clearly through individual earpieces. Volunteers will be on hand to assist in setting these up before the tour begins. Please arrive a few minutes early for this. The meeting point is outside Project Arts Centre.

The tour will involve walking on uneven surfaces, which may include cobblestones and brick pavements. Temple Bar is a busy and potentially noisy area with foot traffic which may cause difficulties with navigation. This tour will follow a relaxed pace and there will be opportunities for rest breaks.

Booking:
This tour is now fully booked, but there is a waiting list.

If you have booked and realise you cannot attend after all, please cancel your booking to allow someone on the waiting list to attend.

Irish Architecture Foundation

About With a focus on public audiences and established in 2005, the Irish Architecture Foundation (IAF) is Ireland’s independent organisation that fosters and advances the culture and communication of architecture. Based in Dublin, but with a national remit and an international network, our purpose is to empower people to build a better world. A not-for-profit charity, the IAF is principally funded by the Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon. It is additionally funded by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, under the auspices of the National Built Heritage Services; the Office of Public Works; and Dublin City Council. Across an increasingly broad range of events, programmes, and exhibitions, the IAF partners with individuals, organisations, government agencies, education institutions and civil society groups to ensure that our work builds civic pride and action and that outcomes are impactful and transformative.
