The AAI, in partnership with Orla O'Kane and the Ailtireachtúil Collective, is delighted to present the Ailtireachtúil Lecture, an evening of architecture as Gaeilge with Aidan Conway, Aoife-Marie Buckley, Anna Ryan Moloney and Ultan Ó Conchubhair.
Ailtireachtúil is a curatorial project exploring the decoloniality of Irish architectural practice through confronting the absence of Irish language within Irish architecture and engagement with oral and material cultures. It’s comprised of a public lecture to claim a place for architecture within oral and performative traditions, a bilingual publication, and an exhibition of new material work, using the Irish language as material, reference, inspiration or medium.
Ailtireachtúil is the grateful recipient of a 2025 Arts Council Architecture Project Award.
