VISUAL is pleased to present An Experimental House by Superposition.
Temporarily sited on VISUAL's campus, An Experimental House acts as a structure in which to test experimental methods and materials. This moveable structure utilises local and overlooked approaches and solutions to building challenges. Utilising a series of specifically designed joints that anchor a timber frame, over the course of the life of the structure at VISUAL, components including modular wall panels and a roof will be added.
In August 2024, it will host VISUAL's Summer School of workshops investigating approaches to materials, building and making.
Please note that construction of An Experimental House is ongoing, please inquire at VISUAL's reception about viewing.

Superposition is an experimental architecture studio founded by Donn Holohan and Elspeth Lee which integrates teaching, research and practice. Working between Hong Kong and Ireland, the studio merges vernacular means and methods with digital tools with a view toward making architecture which is specific rather than generic, pragmatic but not utilitarian, and with a strongly community-centred view of evolving tradition and place.
