Áras Uí Chonghaile is a significant landmark in the Belfast Gaeltacht Quarter. The building used to house a post office at the turn of the century, when James Connolly was alive, making his daily treks to the city. Here he would have organised and assisted an impoverished working class in the shipyards and linen industries. The restoration of this unique and iconic building reaffirms James Connolly’s presence once again on the Falls Road. This building tour will be delivered by Fergal Rainey from McGurk Architects.

Part of European Heritage Open Days 2024.
