This wonderful Victorian ecclesiastical edifice with its treasured provenance reveals the architectural astuteness of Joseph Hansom who was approached in the mid 1870’s, to design a Catholic Parish Church for Newtownards on an elevated site in North Street. The Church had several renovations since its opening in 1877 and in 2020 the restoration began after several years of preparation, planning and research. This building tour will be delivered by Stephen Salley from HBK Architects.

Part of European Heritage Open Days 2024.
