Building Stories: Towards a National Buildings Platform for Ireland A collaborative discussion with networking lunch

Unlocking Spatial Data, Transforming the Built Environment

To unlock housing in Ireland, our public and private sectors need a much clearer understanding of levels of vacancy and dereliction across our towns and cities. This means building trusted data platforms to safely share, store, and operationalise Irish national datasets. It means moving Irish data sharing approaches in line with EU norms to remove the blockages that stop us making progress.

The impacts in Ireland of having dynamic, reliable, coordinated and accessible data in a National Buildings Platform would be significant: evidence-driven policies, better planning decisions, and a more efficient use of the built environment. Join the Building Stories project team to hear about progress made towards a new National Buildings Platform, and share your insights on pathways to data sharing for public good.

Short project presentations led by Dr Philip Crowe will be followed by an expert panel (speakers TBA) moderated by Dr Rob Brennan, and an open Q&A session. The event continues the collaboration between the Building Stories project and the Earth Institute Democracy and the Environment seminar series. Coffee and a light networking lunch will be served.
