The Architectural Association of Ireland is delighted to host an event with European Architecture Students Assembly (EASA). EASA is a phenomenon that, although intensely experienced, is difficult to describe. Please join us in conversation to share their understanding of EASA and their ambitions for EASA Seanchaí, Waterford 2026.

All profits made from the evening will go towards funding EASA 2026. If you cannot attend the event, please consider purchasing a donation ticket that will go directly towards the cause.

Constructing Assemblies: EASA Seanchaí, Waterford 2026

The European Architecture Student Assembly, or EASA as it’s typically known, is a platform for cultural exchange, connecting architecture students and professionals across Europe. Organised around assemblies, each year a different country within the EASA network hosts the main 2 week long summer assembly, with other smaller events happening throughout the year.

The annual gatherings enable participants to explore alternative forms of architectural thinking and practice outside of the traditional university context, with students taking the delivery of their education into their own hands. During EASA, around 600 students and professionals form a community of participants, tutors, organisers and helpers who maintain themselves – we all work, study, rest, cook, eat, clean and live together. Workshops make up the majority of the programme, of which there is typically a choice of over 30, all with different outputs related to the year’s chosen theme. From construction, to performance, an EASA workshop can truly embody any of the many encompassing elements of architecture. Alongside evening socials, lectures, excursions, exhibitions, open discussions, intuitive one-day workshops, and spontaneous performances, two weeks of EASA encapsulate an assembly like no other.
