This Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Lecture Series brings together leading architectural practices from Ireland and abroad for an engaging programme of public conversations.
Across the series, speakers will explore contemporary architectural practice, design thinking, and the ideas behind award-winning projects, offering insight into the challenges and opportunities shaping the built environment today.
Anne Marie Galmstrup is the Founding Director of Galmstrup Architects. She has delivered a range of award-winning cultural projects on challenging and sensitive sites in Denmark, Scotland, and Ireland, as well as in the Middle East. She has a vast experience with cultural and heritage projects, combining strategic thinking with pragmatic solutions crafting original designs driven from a place’s context and culture, collection, and communities.
Anne Marie’s approach is rooted in the Danish saying ‘hænderne i Jorden’ (hands in the earth), believing every projects required walking the grounds, understanding the community, and responding to the spirit of place before design begins.
Anne Marie graduated from the Bartlett School of Architecture. She is a jury member of the Obel Award, chair of International Museum Leadership Conference 2024 in Edinburgh, and member of ICOM and academician at Academy of Urbanism. Committed to community engagement, she established the non-profit organisation “Imaginations Cross Cultures” which co-create summer schools with young people.
