How many young people look around them and feel that they have had a say in what they see? Architecture at the Edge (AATE) seeks to pave the way to create the conditions, expertise, and network to enable young people to directly shape their world and create future places at a variety of scales.

We have inviting 3 groups of up to 30 TY students at three different schools in Galway to take part in an innovative and inspiring new architecture education programme in 2021. It will enable and empower each student to participate in a creative design process that results in a real design for a space or place. The 2021 programme will involve hands-on designing and making, using real-life processes and collaborating with leading practitioners and current students in the field.

The project is delivered in partnership with Architecture at the Edge (Galway), and architecture education organisation MATT+FIONA (London).

Architecture at the Edge

About Architecture at the Edge (AATE) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the promotion of architecture as culture. Established in Galway in 2017, it invites everyone to explore and understand the value of a well-designed built environment. We aim to demonstrate how design enhances everyday life and to inspire new ways of thinking about architecture.
