EASA Seanchaí 2026: The 46th edition of EASA (European Architecture Students Assembly)
EASA Seanchaí will bring more than 500 architecture students and emerging practitioners from over 50 countries to Waterford for a two-week programme of workshops, design-build projects, fieldwork, lectures, and public exhibitions. Now in its 46th year, EASA is a self-organised, itinerant architecture assembly that offers an alternative model of architectural education grounded in collaboration, experimentation, and cultural exchange.
The 2026 theme, Seanchaí, draws on Ireland’s tradition of storytelling and examines how narratives, memory, and cultural knowledge shape landscapes, buildings, materials, and communities. Throughout the two weeks, Waterford and its surrounding region will serve as the backdrop for site-based learning, project work, and a series of exhibitions documenting the processes and outcomes of the assembly.
How to get involved
EASA Seanchaí includes several opportunities for engagement:
• Public events and exhibitions will take place across Waterford and will be open to the wider public.
• Open workshop days will allow visitors to see ongoing projects and meet participants.
• Local organisations, community groups, and individuals interested in contributing relevant sites, knowledge, or cultural insights are welcome to get in touch with the organisers.
Further details on public events and access points will be announced as the festival approaches.
