Ridden by debt, Hong Kong wedding planner finds a new career opportunity in running a funeral parlour. Domenic has a flair for the new business and things start to go his way, but there’s one problem – he does not get on with Master Man, a Taoist priest who performs the traditional ‘Breaking Hell’s Gate’ ritual at the funerals and is the funeral home’s part owner.

This charming comedy drama captures the clash between the modern world and centuries long traditions, while also addressing issues like gender roles, family dynamics and finding meaning in life and death. 2024; 18 (130 min).

Cantonese with English subtitles.
