Join us at the Printworks, Dublin Castle on 17 January at 5.30pm for the official opening of the EUmies Exhibition and a talk by Yvonne Farrell FRIAI and Shelley McNamara FRIAI of Grafton Architects, winners of the EUmies Award – the Europen Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture and the highest honour for a building in Europe.
Speakers include: RIAI President Sean Mahon FRIAI; Ivan Blasi, Fundació Mies van der Rohe; Ciaran O'Connor, OPW; and MC Shane O’Toole HonFRIAI.
Tickets are free but registration is essential. Light refreshments will be served.
The RIAI are proud to present the EUmies Award Exhibition in the Printworks, Dublin Castle from 16 January to 14 February 2024.
A touring exhibition, it presents models, texts, videos, sketches and drawings of the 40 shortlisted works – among them Town House Kingston by Grafton Architects, the first-ever Irish winner; the 13 Irish nominees for the 2024 award and the Young Talent award winner, Architectural Graduate Laura Hurley from CCAE (Cork Centre for Architectural Education).
The exhibition features great examples of the best of European architecture, including innovative solutions in housing, workplaces, and urban regeneration. It shows that cities and countries across Europe are experiencing similar challenges, and some great solutions exists for these.
