Join the RIAI on 11 and 12 October in the RDS Dublin for the RIAI Conference 2023 – the largest architectural conference and networking event in Ireland and an unmissable date in the diary for the built environment sector. This year’s theme, #Collaboration, puts a spotlight on the collaborative nature of architecture, as well as highlighting that the challenges we are facing – climate change, affordable housing and the need for liveable cities and towns – can only be solved through collaboration.

The RIAI Conference takes place alongside the Architecture + Building Expo, featuring many of Ireland’s leading building technology providers. Other conference highlights include the Rising Stars evening on Wednesday 11 October to celebrate new talent in Irish architecture.

This year’s RIAI Conference Sponsor is once again OUTHAUS, who has been a supporter of the RIAI Conference since 2016.

Confirmed speakers for Wednesday 11 October include Pooja Agrawal, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of social enterprise Public Practice, which recruits placemaking professionals to join local authorities who are experiencing a skills’ need. Níall McLaughlin, Winner of the 2022 RIBA Stirling Prize for the New Library, Magdalene College, Cambridge, will present award-winning work including the International Rugby Experience in Limerick, for which he received the prestigious RIAI Public Choice Award and an RIAI Award for Cultural and Public Buildings.

The second Conference day, Thursday 12 October, is dedicated to climate change action through #Retrofit at scale. Conference sessions focus on the collaborative work processes in #Retrofit and include topics such as ‘Retrofit of Estates and Commercial Buildings’; ‘Delivery of Retrofit’; and ‘Housing Regeneration’, including a focus on Europe’s largest listed building, the Park Hill brutalist housing scheme in Sheffield, containing 1000 homes, by Mikhail Riches and Public Buildings. Opening remarks will be delivered by MEP Ciarán Cuffe, member of the Greens/EFA political group.
