The RIAI and the Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage Joint Housing Committee are very pleased to announce this upcoming webinar to discuss low-rise medium density housing in an Irish context. It is intended to review how this category of housing can be delivered in line with current Building Regulations, Planning Regulations and Design Guidance documents.
The low-rise medium-density housing category, providing typical densities of 35-80 dwellings per hectare exists in most European countries. This Webinar will include a discussion on how sustainable densities within this range can be achieved in Ireland.
The Webinar will be chaired by Joan MacMahon (Senior Architectural Advisor in the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage) with an overview of low-rise medium-density housing by Jason Taylor (Planning Advisor in the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage) and presentations by RIAI Member Claire McManus (Director of JFOC Architects, Chair of the RIAI Housing Committee and RIAI Spokesperson on Housing), and Eoin O Dowd (Building Standards Advisor in the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage).
