Our SPAB Ireland Lecture Series 2023 focuses on sustainability and adaptive reuse of existing vacant buildings. A four-part lecture series, with speakers which include Dr. Rosanne Walker, Damien Barry (Canice Architects), Collette Beattie (Donegal County Council) and Rachel Loughrey focus on Thermal Upgrading of our Traditional Buildings, successful adaptive reuse case studies, and how to apply circular economy principles in the context of sustainability and adaptive reuse.

Lecture 2: Reuse of vacant historic buildings - Focusing on good new design to complement old buildings by Damien Curry, Canice Architects
Lecture 3: Bringing Back Our Town Centres: conserving our historic buildings and streetscapes by Collette Beattie.
Lecture 4: The Circular Economy in the context of sustainability and adaptive reuse of historic buildings with Rachel Loughrey from Irish Green Buildings Council.
In early 2017 a group of Irish SPAB Scholars and Fellows joined together to form SPAB Ireland. SPAB Ireland is the newest branch of the SPAB, and is an active and friendly community that aims to protect and promote the wonderful national built heritage on the whole island of Ireland. SPAB Ireland has its own committee, which currently consists of 12 members.
