Join us for an active seminar exploring the role of care in our lives through the themes of community, body, building, education and hospitality. How can we converse meaningfully in the broader social and public care conversation? Over the past six months, Dr Alastair Roy and visual artist Marielle MacLeman have worked alongside Workhouse Union and VISUAL to strengthen approaches to care and collaboration in community engagement and collaborative work. The outcome of the process is an open-source guide to support collaborative arts in both organisations and beyond. The seminar invites colleagues and practitioners in the arts, education, community development, architecture, ecology and health to share experiences and help shape the open-source To Care manual through active workshops. The seminar takes place in the wider context of Speech Sounds – Artworks 2022, curated by Iarlaith Ni Fhearois. As part of the exhibition, Marielle MacLeman has created an artwork in response to To Care, with bespoke additions for the seminar.
