The AAI is delighted to present the 2026 UCD Urban Design Masterclass Lecture by Ulrik Raysse, kindly sponsored by Henry J Lyons Architects, with thanks to Dublin City Architects & DCC for their support in hosting this event at Dublin City Hall.
Ulrik Raysse founded ARROW in 2012. With offices in Copenhagen, Dublin, and Warsaw, the practice delivers large-scale projects across Europe and Africa, ranging from towers, master planning to major mixed-use developments. With 100% export-based work, collaboration sits at the core of our approach. We describe this methodology as international experience with local knowledge.
In Ireland, ARROW has been involved in Dublin Landings, Connolly Quarter, the Guinness Quarter Masterplan, the Athlone 2040 Framework Plan, and most recently the masterplan for Dún Laoghaire Harbour. The office is currently engaged in the design of roads and public realm for the South Docklands in Cork.
How heavy is your urban design?
Danish planning teaches us to design lightly with a clear structure, clear storytelling and a human scale.
When working abroad, the challenge is knowing what to bring with you and what to leave behind.
This talk is about our Irish experiences seen from Copenhagen.
